Ali Video Comments Off on Cinderella DVD Exclusive: Ginnifer Goodwin Goes Behind the Scenes at Disney World!

With the recent release of Cinderella on DVD/BluRay we discovered that Ginny is in one of the special features! Thanks to TV Guide for the clip & Article!

“I am a Disney geek!” proclaims Ginnifer Goodwin, and apparently her fondness for the House of the Mouse isn’t just because she plays Snow White on Once Upon a Time. Not only does Goodwin say she visits Disneyland with her animator sister “at least every other month,” she’s always felt a kinship with the more royal residents of the Disney universe. “My biggest dream, for the past 33 years, was to play a Disney princess,” she confesses. Now that the stunner has scored that long-sought gig on ABC’s hit drama, Goodwin makes for the perfect pick to host the additional features on the Cinderella: Diamond Edition release (out Tuesday) on DVD and Blu-ray.

Among the extras on the gorgeously digitally restored set is an extra about the development of Disney World’s upcoming Princesses-themed attraction, which gave Goodwin rare peek behind the scenes at the happiest place on Earth. “We are touring the construction site, talking to the Imagineers about the process from conception of an idea to finished attraction,” says Goodwin, who was also presented with her own personalized hard hat, buried a Snow White memento within the site, and got to stay in the Dream Suite in Cinderella’s Castle. “It is something I will never forget,” she says. And if that wasn’t enough, Goodwin also got the inside scoop on the theme park’s planned Seven Dwarves Mine Ride (check out the video below). Looks like fairy tales really do come true!

Ali Once Upon A Time Comments Off on ‘Once Upon a Time’ recap: Magic’s back, plus Mulan, Sleeping Beauty

The Los Angeles Times did a great recap of Sunday’s episode.

“Once Upon a Time” is back, and apparently, so is magic. Viewers know that when we left Storybrooke last season, Emma Swan had saved her son Henry and broken the city’s memory curse with true love’s kiss. Also, Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin, again using true love, released magic into the “real” world. With that, there were bound to be fireworks, right? Right?! Well …

There were at least some romantic sparklers. Prince Philip found and awoke his sleeping beauty, Princess Aurora, with his warrior partner in tow — Mulan! A great pairing of characters, and I’m sure we’ll find out more about Mulan and Philip’s relationship before he resumed his quest to find Aurora. It was sneaky of the writers/directors to have the prince say “I love you” without turning to look at either of the women before his soul was sucked out by a wraith (they’re very much like the Dementors in the “Harry Potter” series). He did wake Princess Aurora with true love’s kiss, so read into that what you will. And where was Eddie Murphy’s dragon Mushu?

As evil as Queen Regina is, Mr. Gold’s machinations put everyone else’s to shame. He promises Belle that he won’t kill Regina, but had no problem making her the target of a soul-stealing creature. Without her magic, Regina is powerless to stop it — but Emma, Snow White and Prince Charming are not. They help fend off the wraith, and Emma even somehow activates Regina’s powers by touching her. Here’s where the two stories converge a bit as the wraith, Emma and Snow are pulled into another dimension, which is actually just the other side of the fairy tale land. Mulan and Aurora find Snow and Emma later, believing them to be the cause of the wraith trouble (which they are to an extent).

Henry is safe with Charming, the mob that Dr. Whale organized to get Regina has seemingly dispersed, and it seems everyone’s adjusting. One of the interesting parts of this awakening was going to be seeing how magic and magical creatures would work in the real world. With magic working differently, and seemingly not accessible without Emma’s help, that takes away those possibilities for a while. But it will be fun to see what Emma can do in the fairy tale land.

There won’t be this many to list as the season goes on, but here’s some questions to ponder:
– Who is Dr. Whale? Some may have figured it out, many have not. Even Charming questioned the doctor’s identity, with no resolution.
– How will the family dynamic work among Snow, Charming and Emma? Emma is already pretty standoffish.
– Where’s Pinocchio? The last we saw August the writer he was turning into an adult-sized wooden puppet. Obviously there are too many characters to spotlight every one each week, but it might’ve been nice to minimally update current characters before introducing new ones like Mulan and Princess Aurora. Then again, that’s one of the reasons we keep coming back.
– Baelfire? Who knows.
– Who was the guy at the beginning? Walking around the city, he’s visited by a white pigeon carrying the message that the curse is broken
– The medallion? Mr. Gold seemed to send the wraith after Regina, while the same creature was killing Prince Philip. The Aurora/Mulan/Philip story happened after Regina sent the wraith through the hat.
– Will Captain Hook be a major player? The fact that he was mentioned in the second season promo seems to indicate that.

Ali Once Upon A Time Comments Off on ‘Once Upon a Time’ producers pledge intense season 2

Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz the creators of Once Upon A Time spoke with Entertainment Weekly only the new season.

The new season of last year’s biggest breakout new drama Once Upon a Time will be more ambitious and more intense, particularly during the first batch of season 2 episodes, say showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. Below, the writer-producers tease Sunday’s premiere and beyond (don’t worry, no spoilers here), talk about the overall changes coming to the show, and reveal what they absolutely cannot do with Cinderella.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: First, talk about the decision to end the first season with something people thought would end the series — breaking the curse.

ADAM HOROWITZ: We never thought of this show as the “breaking the curse” show. There were places we wanted to go beyond that. We knew people would think that [storyline] is something that’s going to drag on for years.

But you couldn’t tell viewers it was going to get broken or else it would have spoiled the finale.

EDWARD KITSIS: Breaking the curse at the end of season 1 was always the goal because it felt like it would enable us to dig deeper in season 2 about who these people are.

HOROWITZ: There were two big things in season 1 for us: Breaking the curse and Emma believing — which was the other thing I could sense the audience was going to get impatient about.

KITSIS: And her [revelation] had to come from Henry. He had to make her believe. It couldn’t just be, ‘Oh my God, Ruby, you’re right!’

HOROWITZ: There’s so much we feel like we can do with these characters now that the curse is broken, now that they know who they are. Whereas season 1, to us, it felt like it built to get us to this place.
With the curse broken, are they still trapped in Storybrooke?

HOROWITZ: That’s an excellent question. Whether they can come and go and what leaving means is something that we’re addressing pretty much out of the gate.

KITSIS: Since “Magic Is Coming,” there will be a whole different vibe to Storybrooke this year.
Now that magic has been released, is magic just in Storybrooke, or is it in, say, Portland?

KITSIS: I’ve seen a lot of people in Portland who believe magic is already there, they don’t need us to bring it. What happens when you introduce something new to a new place is exactly what the first couple of episodes will deal with.

HOROWITZ: The way magic works in our world, the rules with which it’s operating, and the way it affects our characters is different than in fairy-tale land.
