Ali Articles & Interviews, Charity, Once Upon A Time Comments Off on Ginnifer Goodwin Shares Why Her Pixie Cut is Here to Stay

MSN interviewed Ginnifer and talked to her about being involved in Listerine’s 21-Day Challenge, her most difficult stunt on Once Upon A Time, and her signature Pixie haircut.

Ginnifer Goodwin is the fairest of them all! Not only has she found her own real-life Prince Charming, she also cares about the well-being of others. She recently teamed up with Listerine to spread awareness about oral hygiene and helping those in need. Click through to read more about Ginny’s quest for healthier smiles, her red carpet secrets and her life as Snow White on “Once Upon a Time.”

Wonderwall: Can you tell us about the Listerine 21-day challenge that you kicked off?

Ginnifer Goodwin: Yes! I got involved because I made some friends at Listerine who told me some horrifying things, like they taught me that half of adults have oral disease and we don’t even know it. And the No. 1 chronic illness among children is oral disease. For all the brushing and flossing we do, it only actually cleans 25 percent of our mouths, and there are more germs in our mouths than there are people on the planet.

I was really blown away by Listerine’s generosity in donating the $21,000 to Oral Health America and I’ve also been blown about by their generosity in donating for every person who signs up on Facebook, which donates to Smiles Across America to help children in need.

What makes you smile?

Being healthy, being around my family, going on adventures …

You always look so great on the red carpet. What’s your secret?

It must be tailored to my body. I don’t think anything I’ve worn has not been tailored. Nothing, unless it’s made for you, is going to fit you. Nothing. Nothing you can buy off a rack can fit every person. So I tailor everything I wear.

Your pixie cut has become your trademark look; did you think that that would happen?

Oh no, not at all, I just don’t like my long hair. I had short hair when I was younger but it wasn’t quite as good of a cut as this one, but I did have very short hair, and I grew it out in order to have more of an aesthetic [identity] as an actress and then I found out that I could wear wigs.
And so I cut it back off.

You wear a wig sometimes on “Once Upon a Time,” what’s that like?

Oh my gosh it’s incredible. To be able to step into another character’s costume and to be able to put on a wig, it sort of allows the imagination, in terms of helping me get out of my box.

Snow White leads an action-packed life on the show. What has been the scariest stunt you’ve done?

Oh my gosh! Last year I performed a stunt that landed me in the hospital. I got stitches over my eye, which can be seen in some precedent photos of ComiCon — I think of last year. I collided with a horse. We were running
towards each other instead of away from each other, and we collided, and he won.

Do you have rules about dating a co-star?

[The actress has been dating her “Once Upon a Time” co-star Josh Dallas pictured on the left.]

I don’t think there are any — I don’t really have any love rules. I have life rules; you know there must be trust and respect and laughter.

What can fans expect to see this season on “One Upon a Time”?

We are going to explore Snow White’s mommy issues and discover that her mother was murdered, but we don’t know how. Her mother issues are going to affect her relationship with her own daughter, Emma, and there’s also going to be conflict because Prince Charming wants to go back and is still passionate about returning to fairy-tale land whereas Snow White wants to stay in Storybook. We’re going to meet some new characters … there’s some good stuff coming.
